About the Position

You’ll be working across modern hospital and clinic sites offering a full mix of modalities including:

  • CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, DEXA

  • Angiography, Arthrogram, Biopsy

  • Echocardiography and more

General Radiologists with some Tier A procedural skills are an excellent fit. Any sub-specialty interests are welcome, as is an interventional skillset. We will match your skills and experience to each position. Working Monday to Friday with no on-call requirements means you have plenty of time off to enjoy Rockhampton and near by Yeppoon on the coast. Alternatively – you may wish to try some FIFO work for days that suit you.

Rockhampton is a well-connected regional city, rich in history and outdoor lifestyle. Think riverside walking tracks, lush botanic gardens, and heritage architecture. It’s also a great jumping-off point to explore the Capricorn Caves or nearby Mount Archer.

Just 40 minutes down the road is Yeppoon, a beachside town on the Capricorn Coast where relaxed, coastal living is the norm. Radiologists can choose to stay here during their locum block for an ocean view and easy daily commute to Rockhampton. Bonus: it’s also the gateway to Great Keppel Island.

Here, your work will directly support continuity of care, improve access, and help shape long-term outcomes.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Rural Generalist (FACRRM or FRACGP) with solid emergency medicine skills to join the team at Joyce Palmer Health Service (JPHS). Working alongside local services including the Palm Island Community Company (PICC)—an Aboriginal Medical Service—you’ll be part of a collaborative health response supporting the community across acute and primary care needs.

Key service details:

  • 1–2 bed Emergency Department, averaging 22 presentations per day

  • 11-bed inpatient ward, average occupancy of six

  • 10-hour shifts with fatigue breaks provided

  • On-call typically 1 in 2 or 1 in 3

This is a broad-scope role in a setting that calls for flexibility, confidence, and a strong commitment to culturally safe care.

You’ll be working alongside a strong, collaborative team in an ACEM-accredited department, in a hospital that provides essential care to the Illawarra region. The Position

Role: Emergency Medicine Registrar
Location: Shellharbour Hospital, Mount Warrigal, NSW
Daily Rate: Up to $2,500 (based on experience)

You’ll be stepping into a well-structured department where no doctor is ever rostered solo. Every shift is supported, and senior coverage is built into the team structure — including overnight.

Shellharbour Hospital sees around 24,000 ED presentations each year and is fully accredited by ACEM for Emergency Medicine Certificate and Diploma programs.

This is an ideal role for experienced Registrars who want to keep building capability in a high-functioning, well-supported environment — while enjoying the flexibility and reward of locum work.

Dates Available

Shifts are available from April through July 2025, including multi-day blocks.

Featured shifts include:

  • 17 April: 22:30–08:30 – $2,800

  • 21–25 May: Nights – $2,500 per shift
