The Position

This locum role is for a Senior Emergency Department Registrar, available as either Nights in Charge (NIC) or Second in Charge (2IC). Based at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, a key healthcare provider in the region, the ED handles more than 40,000 presentations annually, with 16 acute beds and three resuscitation beds. Night shifts run from 10:30 pm to 8:30 am, supported by a team of two registrars, one RMO, one intern, and an FACEM on call.

Competitive rates reflect the seniority and expertise required for this role:

  • NIC (PGY5+, Nights in Charge): $200 per hour (up to $2,000 per shift)

  • 2IC (PGY5+, Second in Charge): $180 per hour

NIC Shifts ($200 per hour, PGY5+):

  • March:

    • Saturday, 8th March to Sunday, 9th March (2 nights)

    • Monday, 17th March to Sunday, 23rd March (7 nights)

    • Monday, 31st March to Sunday, 6th April (7 nights)

  • April:

    • Monday, 7th April to Sunday, 13th April (7 nights)

    • Monday, 14th April to Sunday, 20th April (7 nights)

    • Monday, 21st April to Sunday, 27th April (7 nights)

2IC Shifts ($180 per hour, PGY5+):

  • March:

    • Saturday, 1st March to Sunday, 2nd March (2 nights)

What We Require From You

To be eligible for this role, you must have a minimum of five years’ postgraduate experience, including at least 12 months in Emergency Medicine as a trainee. ALS2 certification is essential, and you should have the flexibility to select shifts that suit your schedule. Recent references from Emergency Department supervisors are required to support your application.
