Locum FACEM $3500 Per Day - No On Call - Dates ASAP Into 2023 - Tasmania

Locum FACEM $3500 Per Day - No On Call - Dates ASAP Into 2023 - Tasmania

Do you want to maximise your earnings this year and for 2023? We highly recommend you consider a working holiday in Tasmania.

Not only would you be helping a health service with their critical gaps, but you'll also be well remunerated ($3500 per day). A real benefit to working at Launceston General Hospital is that there is no call for locums, meaning your spare time is your spare time, and there are no worries about those hassles of fatigue from being called during the night. There has also been excellent feedback from past locums commenting on its supportive department.

The Position

Launceston Hospital is looking for any commitment for work in 2022/23. They are very flexible working on arrivals and departures, meaning you can reduce your time away from home. Your first shift is always an afternoon starting at 12 noon or 2 pm for a 10-hour shift, and your last is a day shift allowing you to get home that night.

★ Shift times can vary whilst on placement for longer blocks but are 10-hour shifts starting at 0800, 1200 or 1400.

★ Excellent experienced staff with ED Registrars throughout the day and overnight, plus other FACEMs over the day.

★ Launceston Hospital is just 11 minutes from the airport, meaning a short commute for arrivals and departures.

Dates Available

Any dates are considered from now into 2023. Minimum of 2-day blocks

The Benefits

★ Fantastic rate of $3500 per day

★ No on call

★ Flexible roster

★ Well-regarded health services with great locum feedback

★ Ongoing locum opportunities with the health service and elsewhere in Northern Tasmania. Once credentialled, you can return whenever you like!

★ Travel (flights or ferry) and a hire car for the duration of your locum

★ Launceston is an easily accessible destination

★ Desirable 2-3 bedroom family-friendly accommodation (or a cap of $132 per night for you to book yourself)

★ Quintessential Launceston - What other city has a spectacular gorge of monumental proportions and breathtaking wonder, just a few minutes walk from the city centre? Well, nowhere but Launceston, as far as we know. And not only Cataract Gorge itself but an impressive suspension bridge, cafes and special activities connected to this remarkable natural site.

★ Tasmania’s second biggest city, Launceston is ideally nestled at the head of the beautiful Tamar Valley. The pretty port, around which the city has grown,  has a fascinating history and a vibrant modern-day culture. Within Launceston, we recommend a wander of the streets in the compact centre to give a real feel for the colonial settlement it once was.

About Mel Houston

Hi, I'm Melissa Houston; I am one of the Senior Recruitment Partners at Prescript Recruitment, working with rural generalists and emergency medicine doctors across metro and regional Australia.

My experience covers over a decade of medical recruitment, specialising in senior doctors and solving the healthcare shortage.

I am an expert in working closely with hospitals, departments, and clinics to fill their critical vacancies. My success has included roster management, executive search projects and in-depth relationship building with locum doctors.

I love to work hard whilst injecting humour and fun into my day-to-day activities. I really enjoy meeting clients and doctors; as it stands, I think I've ticked off 100 hospitals that I have visited, and that is probably only touching the surface. I believe it's integral to matching doctors’ and clients’ needs and helps me better understand doctors' new roles.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my daughter and family. I'm a water baby at heart, so you'll often find me out on our family boat - sailing the beautiful waters of the Mornington Peninsula (where I live!).
