About the Health Service
Forbes Hospital – Modern, Local, Connected
Forbes Hospital is part of the Lachlan Health Service and underwent a major redevelopment in 2016. It now delivers a wide range of care across a 24-hour emergency department, general medicine and rehabilitation wards, renal dialysis, pharmacy, dental services, palliative care and maternity suites. With strong local teams and streamlined systems, you’ll have the support you need to focus on clinical care.
The Position
Role: Senior Medical Officer (SMO)
Location: Forbes, New South Wales
Rates: Up to $2,500 per day (depending on experience)
This is a combined ED and ward-based role where you’ll manage a range of presentations including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac cases, infections, paediatrics, and general acute care. Support is available via structured handovers, with complex cases transferred to Dubbo or Orange.

16 – 18 May (Nights) – $2,300/day
24 – 26 May (Nights) – $2,300/day
26 May – 1 June (Days) – $2,300/day
2 – 8 June (Days) – $2,300/day
16 – 22 June (Days) – $2,300/day
23 – 29 June (Days) – $2,300/day

What We’re Looking For
A minimum of PGY5+ with demonstrated experience in emergency and acute care
Current ALS2 certification
Confidence working independently in a regional setting
