The Position
As a Rural Generalist at Blackall Hospital, you will provide comprehensive medical care both within the GP practice and the Emergency Department. Your core schedule will run Monday to Friday in the GP practice, with on-call ED support typically required one night in every two. This is an excellent opportunity for doctors who thrive in diverse clinical environments and are passionate about improving healthcare access in rural communities.
This role is designed to offer both challenge and reward. You’ll encounter a broad range of cases, develop your clinical skills in a unique setting, and experience the personal satisfaction of knowing your work directly impacts the health and well-being of the local population.
Dates Available
Placements are available from April onwards, with both long-term and short-term blocks considered to suit your availability. This flexibility allows you to balance your professional commitments with personal priorities, making gaining valuable experience in rural healthcare easier than ever.

What We Require From You
We’re seeking candidates with fellowship qualifications (FACRRM, FRACGP) and current Emergency Department experience. This role is ideal for doctors who are comfortable working independently, confident in their clinical decision-making, and dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred care.
