We are seeking ED Registrars (PGY4+) and Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) with strong emergency and critical care experience to join a specialist-led private emergency department in Hobart.

The Positions
Location: Private emergency department in Hobart
Rate: Competitive hourly rates based on experience (paid via Invoice)
Role: ED Registrar (PGY4+) or Senior Medical Officer (SMO) managing a mix of adult and paediatric presentations
Support:
Experienced emergency nurses providing strong clinical support
ICU Registrar available for assistance on night shifts
Direct referral access to medical and surgical specialists
Shift Times:
07:30 – 15:00 (8 hours)
10:00 – 18:00 (8 hours)
14:30 – 22:00 (7.5 hours)
15:00 – 23:00 (8 hours)
22:00 – 08:00 (8 hours, with ward calls if required)
On-Call Requirements: There is no on-call requirement for this role.
About the Emergency Department
This modern private ED offers a specialist-led, structured approach to emergency medicine, with:
Immediate access to on-site imaging and pathology, including X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI
A streamlined referral process, with direct access to medical and surgical specialists
Highly experienced emergency nurses, ensuring smooth shift operations and patient flow
Comprehensive cardiac and chest pain services, including on-site angiography
Level III Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units

Wednesday 26 – Friday 28 March: 10:00 - 18:00

A range of day, evening, and overnight shifts are available throughout May, offering flexible locum opportunities to suit your schedule.
