About the Emergency Department

Tamworth Hospital is a major rural referral hospital and one of NSW Health’s flagship regional facilities.
The Emergency Department features:

  • 20 dedicated ED beds

  • ~110 patient presentations daily

  • Modern facilities with strong clinical support

  • Specialist coverage on every day and evening shift

  • A dedicated registrar and SRMO team overnight, with specialist on-call backup

It’s a fast-paced yet supportive environment — ideal for SRMOs who want to grow clinically and work alongside experienced consultants and nurses delivering high-quality emergency care.

The Details

Role: ED SRMO
Location: Tamworth, NSW
Rates: $150–$160 per hour
Dates: Ongoing from September 2025

Shift Patterns:

  • Day: 08:00–18:30

  • Evening: 13:00–23:30

  • Night: 22:30–08:30

Staffing:

  • 7 doctors rostered across day/evening

  • A Specialist present on all day/evening shifts

  • Night cover includes a Registrar, SRMO, RMO, in-charge nurse and on-call Specialist
