Prescript Recruitment is seeking experienced Rural Generalists and Emergency Medicine SMOs to support the Emergency Department at Margaret River, Western Australia, across several upcoming November and December 2026 locum blocks.
Whether you have a night or two available or would prefer a longer December placement, this is an appealing opportunity to combine independent regional Emergency Medicine with everything the Margaret River region has to offer.
The Locum Opportunity
Location: Margaret River Emergency Department, WA
Employer: WA Country Health Service (WACHS)
Shift type: Overnight ED cover
Hours: 10 pm–8 am (10-hour shifts)
Remuneration: Assessed according to qualifications and experience
Additional payment: 10% shift modifier uplift for selected November shifts
Clinical expectations: Confidence working independently in an Emergency Department
November 2026
7–8 November: 1 night shift
15–17 November: 2 night shifts
18–19 November: 1 night shift
December 2026
13–20 December
Night of 16 December off
Final night shift: 19 December
Doctors who can cover individual November shifts or the longer December block are encouraged to enquire.

Getting there: Fly into Perth Airport, then travel south to Margaret River by road. The journey takes approximately three hours from Perth, depending on traffic and your starting point.
Experience and Eligibility
We're seeking experienced doctors who are comfortable providing independent overnight Emergency Department cover in a regional hospital.
Accepted qualifications:
FRACGP-RG
FRACGP / FRACRRM
HBMP
Additional requirements:
Current AHPRA specialist registration
Demonstrated Emergency Medicine experience
Confidence managing ED presentations independently
Current medical indemnity insurance
Ability to meet WACHS credentialing and compliance requirements
