Step into a dynamic Emergency Department that manages approximately 26,000 presentations each year. At Bathurst Health Service, you’ll provide senior clinical leadership, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality emergency care to a broad regional catchment. The ED is ACEM-accredited for up to 24 months of training, offering a strong teaching culture and supportive team structure.
You’ll work alongside experienced SRMOs and Registrars, supported by a collegial leadership team and nursing staff who know their community well. This is an ideal posting for FACEMs who thrive in busy, well-run regional environments where clinical autonomy, teamwork, and patient impact go hand in hand.
Shift structure: 10-hour day shifts (0800 – 1800) with flexible scheduling to fit your calendar.
Why Bathurst
Bathurst is one of New South Wales’ most liveable regional cities — a blend of history, culture, and outdoor adventure just 2.5 hours from Sydney. Nestled in the Central Tablelands, it offers the perfect mix of regional charm and city convenience.
Explore its heritage streets, boutique cafés, and thriving local food scene; unwind with walks along the Macquarie River or take in the panoramic views from Mount Panorama — home to Australia’s most famous racetrack.
With modern infrastructure, quality schools, great restaurants, and the scenic Blue Mountains nearby, Bathurst offers a genuine work-life balance that many metropolitan roles can’t match.
Getting there:
Regular direct routes connect Bathurst to Sydney by car (via the Great Western Highway, 2.5 hours) or train (NSW TrainLink services operate 3 times daily). Regional flights are also available via nearby Orange or Lithgow.
