Located just 2.5 hours from Melbourne in the heart of the High Country, this is a role that combines hands-on clinical experience with the chance to immerse yourself in one of Victoria’s most scenic and welcoming regions.

Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major regional health service for North East Victoria, servicing a population of more than 100,000 people. Inside the ED
The recently upgraded Emergency Department sees 80–110 presentations per day, offering a wide spectrum of cases that make every shift a valuable learning and clinical opportunity. The ED includes:
A modern Short Stay Unit with 8 beds
A dedicated Paediatric Ward with 8 single rooms
Strong senior support and a structured environment for CMOs to gain confidence and experience
With shift patterns spanning days, evenings, and nights, the ED team works cohesively to deliver timely, high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
The Role
Position: ED CMO (PGY4+)
Rates: $200–$250 per hour (crisis rates available)
Shift Times: 08:00–17:30 | 12:00–21:30 | 14:00–23:30 | 22:30–08:30
Requirements: Recent ED experience and ALS2 certification
