You’ll be leading medical services across the Gladstone and Banana region of Central Queensland, directly impacting healthcare access, workforce stability and community outcomes. This is more than an administrative role – it’s an opportunity to leave a legacy for a growing and diverse region.
The Position
This full-time, fixed-term (24 months) leadership role covers two key areas:
Gladstone Hospital – a regional base hospital with over 100 treatment spaces and a broad range of clinical services.
Banana Health Service – including Biloela Hospital and multiple multipurpose health centres serving rural communities.
You’ll lead clinical governance, medical workforce planning, operational oversight, and strategy for future growth, supported by a committed and skilled executive and clinical team.
Package & Benefits
This position offers a total remuneration package of up to $589,155 p.a., including:
Base salary up to $266,677 p.a. (Level 27)
12.75% employer superannuation
17.5% leave loading
Up to $21,500 in professional development allowances + 3.6 weeks PDL
Overtime, on-call, attraction and retention incentives

What We’re Looking For
AHPRA registration
Fellowship with FRACMA or FACHSM (or working towards)
Proven experience in medical leadership, governance and workforce planning
A strong understanding of regional healthcare challenges and opportunities
Rural or remote experience highly regarded
