About the Service
This Aboriginal Medical Service operates multiple clinics across the NSW Mid North Coast and Central Western regions, providing community-controlled, culturally safe healthcare to First Nations peoples and the wider community.
Services span chronic disease management, preventative health programs, health education, outreach services, and a broad range of GP-led primary care. The service works in partnership with Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, and allied health teams to deliver patient-centred care that reflects local needs and priorities.
The Position
Provide high-quality primary healthcare in a culturally safe environment
Focus on chronic disease management, preventative health, and community outreach
Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team in fully accredited, computerised clinics
Flexible arrangements: full-time, part-time, or FIFO rosters (8- or 9-day fortnights possible)
Opportunities to work across multiple sites if desired

Gilgandra is located in the Orana region, 430 km northwest of Sydney (approx. six-hour drive) and just 66 km from Dubbo
Dubbo Airport offers daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne, making FIFO viable

Permanent role – flexible start date
Immediate need at Gilgandra, with additional opportunities in Dubbo and Macksville
Benefits Provided
Earnings: 70% of billings (approx. $2,700–$3,500/day) → $500K+ p.a. full-time
Income guarantee: $200/hour for first 3 months
Accommodation: Rental covered for first 6 months
Incentives:
Workforce Incentive Program: ~$14,400/year for Gilgandra (MM4)
NSW RDN grants for relocation, CPD, and site visits
Rural Procedural Grants: up to $6,000–$20,000 annually for emergency/procedural skills
Visa support: Sponsorship under 482 & 494 available
FIFO: Supported via Dubbo Airport with daily city flights
Professional development: RACGP, ACRRM, RVTS, NSW RDN training access
Prescript support: End-to-end onboarding and placement assistance
