Prescript Recruitment is seeking FRACGP and FACRRM doctors with recent remote Indigenous health experience for 2027 locum placements at Wadeye Health Centre in the Northern Territory.

The Position
You’ll work within an experienced Remote Primary Health Care team, providing a broad mix of:
Primary care
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
Acute presentations
Emergency medicine
Rural and remote healthcare
The usual roster is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
You’ll fly Darwin to Wadeye on Monday morning, work in the community during the week, and return to Darwin on Friday afternoon.
There may occasionally be periods where you are the sole doctor onsite, however you’ll have strong nursing support and access to 24/7 telephone support from experienced Rural Generalists.
2027 Dates
Availability is now open from 21 December 2026 throughout 2027.
4-week blocks are preferred
Minimum 3 weeks for your first placement
Returning Wadeye locums may be considered for 2-week blocks

What You’ll Need
This role is for doctors with current, relevant remote Indigenous health experience.
To be considered, you will need:
FRACGP or FACRRM Fellowship
Current AHPRA registration
Remote Indigenous health experience within the past 2 years
Current ALS2, APLS or REST
Current CPD statement
Two current references, including your most recent line manager and a referee relevant to your remote Indigenous health work
Please note: non-Fellowed doctors and first placements of less than 3 weeks cannot be considered.
Once a placement is secured, additional credentialing documentation will include:
National Police Check
Working with Children Check
100 points of ID
Medical indemnity insurance
Evidence of required immunisations
