A strong remote GP locum opportunity for doctors with recent Indigenous health experience who want meaningful clinical work, an excellent daily rate and the benefit of returning to Darwin each weekend.
Prescript Recruitment is seeking FRACGP and FACRRM doctors for ongoing locum work at Wadeye Health Centre in the Northern Territory.
You do not need to be a Rural Generalist to be considered. Experienced GPs with the required remote Indigenous health background and advanced life support skills are also encouraged to apply.
The Position
You will work as part of an experienced Remote Primary Health Care team, providing a mix of:
Primary care
Indigenous health
Acute presentations
Emergency medicine
Rural and remote healthcare
The usual roster is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
Doctors fly from Darwin to Wadeye on Monday morning, work in the community during the week, then return to Darwin on Friday afternoon.
While there may occasionally be times when you are the sole doctor onsite, you will have strong nursing support and access to 24/7 telephone support from experienced Rural Generalists.

ASAP – ongoing
4-week placements are preferred
Minimum 3 weeks for your first placement
Returning locums may be considered for 2-week blocks
What's Provided
$2,772 per day + GST
FIFO travel between Darwin and Wadeye
Darwin weekend accommodation

24/7 telephone medical support
No requirement to remain in Wadeye over weekends
Prescript support throughout credentialing and your placement
What You'll Need
This position is suited to doctors who already have relevant remote Indigenous health experience.
To be considered, you will need:
FRACGP or FACRRM
Current AHPRA specialist registration
Recent Indigenous remote health experience within the last 2 years
Current ALS2, APLS or REST
Current CPD statement
