Why This Role?

These placements are with Aboriginal community-controlled and Aboriginal health services providing culturally safe, holistic and community-led care.

Depending on the location, you may be working in services that provide primary health care, chronic disease management, preventative health, family wellbeing, allied health, outreach, telehealth and community support programs.

The NSW South Coast opportunities are based in coastal Aboriginal health services supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the region, with general practice, medical, dental and broader community health services available.

The far-west NSW placement offers the chance to contribute to a long-standing Aboriginal health service supporting communities across Broken Hill and the wider region.

The Queensland placements are based within a large Aboriginal community-controlled health service supporting communities across Mount Isa, North West Queensland and the Lower Gulf, with a focus on culturally appropriate primary health care, allied health and family wellbeing services.

These roles are ideal for GPs who value:

  • Community-focused Aboriginal health

  • Meaningful continuity of care

  • Regional, coastal or remote medicine

  • Flexible locum blocks

  • Well-supported primary care environments

  • The opportunity to make a genuine impact

The Location

This group of opportunities gives you the choice of very different locum experiences.

You could be working in regional NSW, supporting a community-focused AMS in the Warrumbungle region. You could choose the NSW South Coast, with opportunities across Batemans Bay, Narooma and Bega. You could take on a short placement in Broken Hill, contributing to health care in far-western NSW. Or you could head to North West Queensland for a rewarding remote AMS placement in Mount Isa or Doomadgee.

Prescript can talk through the different locations, rosters, travel arrangements and clinical settings to help you choose the right fit.
