The Opportunity
If you enjoy Emergency Medicine but would like a change from the traditional public hospital ED environment, this is an interesting opportunity.
Prescript is seeking experienced GPs and Rural Generalists with Emergency Medicine experience to join the medical team within the private Emergency Department at Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital in Hobart.
This is a 15-bay, hospital-integrated private ED, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The clinical model is specialist-led, with experienced emergency doctors involved throughout assessment, diagnosis and treatment, supported by established pathways into the hospital and its specialist services when patients require admission.
For the right Rural Generalist or experienced GP, it offers the opportunity to practise Emergency Medicine within a smaller private ED environment, while still managing genuine acute presentations and working as part of an experienced emergency team.
There is plenty of flexibility too. Pick up one or two individual shifts, combine several October dates, or speak with Mel about opportunities extending into November and December.

$300 Per Hour + Locum Support

$300 per hour

Its Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving the local community an alternative pathway for emergency care and providing direct access to the hospital's broader network of specialists and inpatient services when required.

Current AHPRA registration
Appropriate Emergency Department experience
Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements
Availability for one or more required shifts
