Living and Working in Fitzroy Crossing
Fitzroy Crossing is a remote Kimberley community located approximately 400 kilometres east of Broome and 650 kilometres west of Kununurra. Doctors will generally travel through one of these regional centres, with the final itinerary dependent on flight availability and the arrangements approved for the placement. Prescript will confirm the complete travel plan with you before your booking is finalised.
Set beside the Fitzroy River, the town provides a genuine experience of life and medicine in the Kimberley. The surrounding region is known for its expansive landscapes, boab country and access to some of north-western Australia’s most distinctive natural environments.
This is remote medicine and that is also what makes the placement professionally rewarding and personally memorable.
What You Will Need
To be considered, you will require:
Current general or specialist registration with AHPRA
Recent and relevant Emergency Department experience
The ability to work confidently within a rural or remote clinical environment
Appropriate emergency medicine competencies for the roster
Australian working rights
The ability to satisfy WA Health credentialing and compliance requirements
Specific mandatory qualifications and credentialing documents will depend on the roster and level of appointment. Prescript will review these with you at the beginning of the process.
