At Prescript Recruitment, we believe the right doctor, in the right place, can transform entire communities. This Director of Medical Services (DMS) locum opportunity at Katherine Hospital is one of those rare leadership assignments where your expertise and decisions will ripple across a region larger than Victoria.
You’ll oversee Katherine Hospital — a critical regional facility — and a network of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) that deliver care across remote and Indigenous communities in the Big Rivers Region. It’s more than a locum placement; it’s a chance to strengthen healthcare systems, support medical teams, and create tangible change.
The Position
In this full-time locum engagement, you will:
Provide senior medical leadership across Katherine Hospital and PHCs
Oversee clinical governance, credentialing, and quality standards
Mentor and support rural generalists, GPs, specialists, and registrars
Partner with NT Health on strategic and operational planning
Champion Indigenous health and community-first care models
You’ll be based at Katherine Hospital, a pivotal regional hub, during the NT’s spectacular Dry Season — a time of mild weather, clear skies, and vibrant community events.
