The Position

We are seeking General Practitioners with an interest or background in Aboriginal Medical Services or rural and remote healthcare. You will work within well-established, community-led clinics providing comprehensive primary healthcare, supported by strong clinical and administrative teams.

Each clinic offers a collaborative, professional environment where your experience and empathy will make a genuine difference.

Rates:

  • Mornington Island – $2,000 per day + GST

  • Doomadgee – $2,000 per day + GST

  • Mt Isa – $1,800 per day + GST

Dates:

  • Mornington Island: 5 January – 23 December 2026

  • Doomadgee: 2 January – 23 December 2026

  • Mt Isa: 2 January – 23 December 2026

Locations:
Mornington Island | Doomadgee | Mt Isa, QLD

What’s Provided

  • Flights to and from placement

  • Car for local transport

  • Fully furnished accommodation with cooking facilities

Clinic Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8am – 5pm

  • No after-hours or on-call work

This schedule allows you to focus fully on patient care during the day and unwind properly after hours.

What We Require From You

  • FRACGP or FACRRM

  • Current AHPRA specialist registration

  • Experience in AMS, Indigenous health, or rural/remote general practice preferred but not essential
