The Role
As a GP in correctional health, you’ll deliver evidence-based medical care to people in custody, focusing on:
Conducting reception health assessments for new arrivals
Managing chronic conditions, acute presentations, and preventive health needs
Collaborating closely with nursing, allied health, and mental health teams
Providing continuity of care within a structured, low-pressure clinical model
Typical hours: Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, Saturday 9am–5pm, Sunday 8am–4pm
Shift options: Choose from multiple metropolitan and regional facilities including Ravenhall, Lara, Ararat, Castlemaine, and West Melbourne.
Minimum two-week blocks preferred; flexible scheduling available.

Eligibility & Requirements
Current AHPRA registration (General or Specialist)
Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM (preferred)
Willingness to undergo National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Up-to-date immunisation evidence (Hep B, COVID-19, Influenza, TB)
Prior experience in correctional, emergency, or community health highly regarded
