Coastal Urgent Care GP Shifts - Phillip Island VIC | Jan–Feb 2026

Location: Phillip Island Health Hub, Cowes VIC

Rates: $200 to $260 per hour (shift dependent)

Phillip Island’s Urgent Care Centre (UCC) is a community-critical service based within the Phillip Island Health Hub in Cowes. It is structured, well-supported, and ideal for VR GPs who like clinical variety, good systems, and clear pathways.

The UCC operates 24 hours a day and sees approximately 10,000 to 11,000 patients each year. Patients are assessed on arrival by reception and nursing staff, then managed using standard triage categories and escalation pathways. Where appropriate, patients are referred back to their nominated GP for ongoing follow-up, supporting continuity of care.

The Position

  • Role: GP, Urgent Care (UCC)

  • Site: Phillip Island Health Hub, Cowes VIC 3922

  • Shift options:

    • PM: 13:45 to 23:15

    • Night: 22:45 to 08:15

    • 7 days per week

Typical Presentations

You will manage a broad range of urgent but non-life-threatening presentations, including:

  • Minor infections

  • Minor fractures, sprains, sports injuries, and neck or back pain

  • UTIs and STIs

  • Minor cuts and wounds

  • Insect bites and rashes

  • Minor eye and ear conditions

  • Respiratory illnesses

  • Gastroenteritis

  • Mild burns

Requirements

  • Unrestricted VR GP

  • Current AHPRA specialist registration

  • Medical indemnity insurance

  • Experience with urgent care or emergency presentations, adult and paediatric

  • Confidence with procedural work, including suturing and plastering

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
