We are pleased to announce a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated GP to join the team at Risdon Prison, Hobart. This role offers a chance to work within a multidisciplinary health team, providing comprehensive healthcare services in a correctional setting.
The Position
As a GP, you will be part of an extended team of 4 doctors and up to 40 nurses. Your role will involve addressing a variety of clinical presentations, including mental health, drug, and alcohol-related issues. You will provide direct clinical services to patients and work collaboratively within the team to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary healthcare services to patients within the prison.
Work within a multidisciplinary health team to deliver comprehensive care.
Prescribe medications, including Schedule 8 (S8) opioid medications.
Manage a range of health issues with a focus on mental health, substance abuse, and chronic conditions.
Participate in on-call duties as required, compensated at $400 per day, with callout duty at $1500.
