The Position
Join as a GP at the Darwin Correctional Centre, where your expertise will shape the healthcare landscape for inmates. Your responsibilities include:
Providing clinical leadership within the primary health care team, delivering essential general practice and public health services to prisoners.
Collaborating with the management team to oversee healthcare service delivery, including support for Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health programs.
Participating in emergency medical response and aiding in medical evacuations when necessary, ensuring swift and effective healthcare interventions.
Contributing to the education and training of fellow primary health care providers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement, including Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
This role offers a dynamic platform to showcase your clinical leadership and compassion while making a tangible difference in the lives of a vulnerable population.

What We Require From You
✓ Current AHPRA Registration
✓ Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM (non-specialist GP locums considered)
✓ Australian permanent residency, citizenship, or applicable work visa
✓ NT Police Check (arranged post-confirmation)
✓ Previous correctional experience seen as advantageous but not essential
