The Positions
As a GP, you'll work as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, ensuring that individuals in correctional facilities receive the healthcare they deserve. This role is ideal for GPs who are open to working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, providing care where it’s needed most. You’ll be working for a reputable private operator of correctional centres and healthcare services in Australia.
Dates and Locations Available
We have multiple shifts available in various locations across Victoria. Whether you want to pick up shifts at short notice or book in advance, we have flexibility to suit your schedule:
West Melbourne - Site 1:
Mon – Fri 8am-5pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 8am-4pm

3/09, 4/09, 6/09, 7/09, 11/09, 14/09, 18/09, 19/09, 20/09, 21/09, 25/09, 26/09, 27/09, 28/09West Melbourne - Site 2:
Mon – Fri, Sun 9am-5pm

3/09, 4/09, 5/09, 18/09, 19/09, 25/09, 26/09, 27/09West Melbourne - Site 3:
Mon – Sat 9am-5pm
Available Dates:
2/09, 3/09, 5/09, 9/09, 10/09, 12/09, 16/09, 17/09, 19/09, 23/09, 24/09, 26/09, 30/09North-east of Geelong:
Mon – Thurs 9am-5pm
Available Dates: Enquire for current September shiftsGoldfields Region:
Loddon: Mon, Wed, Thurs 9am-5pm
Middleton: Tues 9am-5pm
Available Dates: 1-2 days per week, your choiceCentral Highlands Region:
Mon – Thurs 9am-5pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm
Available Positions: Permanent Medical Officer
Benefits Provided
★ Competitive locum rates:
✓ Medical Officer: $150 per hour
✓ Senior Medical Officer: $180 per hour
✓ Higher rates for authorized methadone/OSTP/OSP/S100 prescribers
✓ Payment method choice either via invoice with PTY Ltd business structure or via payroll (salary packaging available)
★ Ask Prescript about permanent salary packages available
★ Flexible scheduling with the ability to pick up shifts at short notice
★ Opportunity to assist some of the most vulnerable populations in our society
★ Work in nurse-led primary healthcare units within correctional facilities
★ No Medicare requirements unless you're a methadone/OSTP/OSP/S100 prescribe
What We Require From You
✓ VR or Non-VR GP status
✓ Willingness to work in a correctional setting
✓ Dedication to providing high-quality care in challenging environments
✓ Flexibility to work varying shifts across different locations
✓ Experience in methadone/OSTP/OSP/S100 prescribing (advantageous but not essential)
