Prescript is delighted to be working with a leading imaging provider that operates across two sites in Bundaberg, Queensland. Together, these clinics deliver a full spectrum of diagnostic services to both hospital and community patients, making this a locum opportunity with genuine variety and scope.
The Position
As a locum radiologist in Bundaberg, you’ll divide your time between a hospital-based clinic and a modern community health hub. The hospital site offers the complete suite of imaging modalities, from general X-ray, ultrasound and CT through to MRI, 3D mammography, echocardiography and bone mineral densitometry. It is also home to the region’s only PET/CT scanner and a well-established interventional service, making it a true centre of excellence.
The second site complements this with a focus on outpatient care, providing accessible diagnostic services in a purpose-built health centre. Between the two, you’ll experience a steady and varied caseload, supported by skilled radiographers, sonographers and a friendly admin team who know their community well. With no on-call or public holiday requirements, the role gives you the space to enjoy Bundaberg’s relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Lifestyle and Location
Bundaberg is a thriving regional city best known for its sugar industry, world-famous rum distillery and access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. It’s just a one-hour flight north of Brisbane, with multiple daily services, or an easy five-hour drive by car. While based in Bundaberg, you’ll have time to explore Mon Repos and its nesting turtles, take a reef trip out to Lady Musgrave or Lady Elliot Island, or enjoy the local café, arts and food scene.
For those who prefer the coast, the beachside town of Bargara is only 15 minutes from the hospital. Many locums choose to stay here, enjoying oceanfront walks, relaxed dining and a holiday atmosphere, before commuting into Bundaberg for shifts. It’s the perfect balance of professional fulfilment and personal lifestyle.
What We’re Looking For
To take up this role you’ll need full AHPRA specialist registration (as Bundaberg is not a DWS area), and confidence reporting 80–100 mixed cases per day. Interventional radiologists are very welcome, provided you are also comfortable with general reporting.
What’s On Offer
This placement comes with a daily rate of up to $3,500, return economy airfares from anywhere in Australia, a hire car, and self-contained accommodation. Most importantly, Prescript will take care of everything else – from credentialing and paperwork to travel bookings and ongoing support – so you can focus on delivering excellent patient care.
