Prescript is seeking an experienced Breast Radiologist for selected locum weeks at a dedicated women’s imaging centre on the Gold Coast.
This is a specialist role within a large, established diagnostic imaging network with a substantial presence across the Gold Coast and regional Queensland, offering the backing of a broader radiology group while working in a focused women’s imaging environment.
The role is based at a purpose-built women’s imaging centre in Southport, designed specifically around breast and women’s imaging. The centre has been providing specialist women’s imaging for more than 15 years and is the only dedicated women’s diagnostic imaging facility of its kind on the Gold Coast.

Rate: $4,000 per day

This opportunity would suit a radiologist with established breast imaging experience who is comfortable working across a specialist women’s imaging caseload and undertaking image-guided procedures.

Bone Mineral Densitometry
The wider centre provides advanced breast and women’s imaging services, including 3D mammography, breast procedures and specialist ultrasound.
Procedures
You will need to be comfortable undertaking:
Ultrasound-guided biopsy
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
Ultrasound-guided hook wire localisation
Mammography-guided hook wire localisation
The centre provides image-guided breast procedures including biopsy and FNA as part of its specialist service.
About the clinic
The centre is purpose-built for women’s imaging, with specialist breast radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nurses and support staff working together in a dedicated environment. The facility was designed to provide a calm, private and patient-focused setting, including private consultation rooms and dedicated patient areas.
For a breast radiologist, the appeal is the opportunity to work within an established specialist service where women’s imaging is a core focus rather than one component of a broader general radiology workload.
The service also operates a double-read approach for mammography in line with RANZCR best-practice guidance.
Easy to get to
Whether you’re based in Queensland, interstate or New Zealand, Southport is straightforward to reach.
Gold Coast Airport is the closest option, with direct flights from major Australian cities and selected New Zealand routes. From the airport, it’s an easy drive north to Southport.
Brisbane Airport is another convenient option, with a wider choice of domestic and international flights. From there, Southport is around an hour by car in good traffic.
For Queensland-based radiologists, Southport is also an easy drive from Brisbane and the wider South East Queensland region.
For a one-week locum, it’s a very accessible location: fly in, pick up a car, and you’re on the Gold Coast.

Is confident reporting mammography, ultrasound and breast MRI
Can undertake breast procedures independently
Is comfortable within a specialist women’s imaging environment
