Prescript is seeking an experienced Locum Radiologist for an urgent five-week requirement across established community imaging sites on Bribie Island, including Bongaree, in South East Queensland.
This is a busy, varied role offering a broad general imaging and procedural mix within an established national diagnostic imaging group with a substantial network of community and hospital-based imaging services across Australia.
For an interstate radiologist, it also offers something a little different: a coastal Queensland placement that is easy to reach, connected to the mainland by bridge and still within straightforward driving distance of Brisbane.
The role
Dates: Monday 12 October – Friday 13 November 2026
Rate: $3,500 per day, negotiable due to the urgency of the requirement
Location: Bribie Island and Bongaree, Queensland
Travel: Flights, accommodation and hire car provided
This is a high-volume community imaging role, with an expected workload of 100+ reports per day alongside procedural work.

Coronary calcium scoring
Echocardiography
Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD)
Vascular ultrasound
Interventional imaging and procedures

About the imaging group
You will be working with a well-established Australian diagnostic imaging organisation providing comprehensive imaging services to patients and referrers through a large network of clinics.
The Bribie Island sites form part of an established community imaging service, supported by experienced radiographers, sonographers and administrative teams.
For a locum radiologist, this means joining an established clinical environment, while still enjoying the feel of a close-knit coastal community.
Why Bribie Island?
Bribie Island offers the lifestyle appeal of an island placement without the travel complexity usually associated with one.
Located north of Brisbane, Bribie is connected directly to the mainland by bridge, so there are no ferries or regional flights involved.
Bongaree, on the western side of Bribie Island, sits along the waterfront of Pumicestone Passage. Outside work, you will find beaches, foreshore walks, cafés, boating, fishing and plenty of places to enjoy the water.
For a placement lasting several weeks, it offers a particularly appealing balance: a busy professional role during the week and an easy coastal lifestyle when the working day is finished.
Getting there
For interstate radiologists, travel is straightforward.
Fly into Brisbane Airport, collect your Prescript-arranged hire car and drive north to Bribie Island. Depending on traffic, the journey is approximately an hour by car.
Your flights, accommodation and vehicle will be organised as part of the locum, so you will have transport available throughout your stay.
