Prescript is partnering with an established, locally owned radiology provider supporting patients and referrers across the region. The practice has a strong focus on accessible local radiology, personalised patient care and having Radiologists available on site to work collaboratively with referring doctors.
There is flexible availability from now through to December 2026, with 2 to 3 week blocks preferred. However, the team is very open to hearing from Radiologists who can offer shorter periods or particular dates.

MSK ultrasound-guided injection competency desirable
CT-guided spine and joint injection skills also desirable

The broader imaging service includes MRI, digital X-ray, low-dose CT, ultrasound and image-guided procedures, with a particular focus on areas including pain management and image-guided injections.
For a procedural Radiologist, this gives the role more variety than a straightforward reporting locum, while those with strong general CT and ultrasound skills are also encouraged to enquire.
Location
This locum is in the Newcastle and Hunter region of NSW, with the imaging group operating across:
Waratah, Newcastle – within the Newcastle Specialist Centre, around 10 minutes from Newcastle CBD. This is a comprehensive imaging site, offering CT, ultrasound, MRI, X-ray and image-guided procedures.
Cessnock, Hunter Valley – approximately 50 minutes west of Newcastle, placing you in the heart of the Hunter Valley and within easy reach of the region’s wineries, restaurants and countryside.
Depending on the dates and service requirements, you may be based at one location or work across both during your locum. Prescript will confirm the exact site arrangements with you before you commit.
It is a particularly appealing part of NSW for a locum, giving you the option of Newcastle’s beaches, restaurants and coastal lifestyle, alongside easy access to the Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie and surrounding regional areas.
Flights, accommodation and a hire car are provided, making it straightforward to travel between locations if required.
