If you enjoy procedural Radiology but want a locum that can fit around the rest of your life, this Mildura opportunity is worth a look.
Prescript is supporting a major regional imaging service based within Mildura Base Public Hospital, with locum weeks available throughout September, October and November 2026.
You can work a traditional full week, or the service is prepared to create a three-consecutive-day-per-week FIFO arrangement, with flexibility around which days you choose.
At $4,000 per day, negotiable, with your flights, self-contained accommodation and car organised and provided, it is a particularly attractive option for Radiologists who want meaningful procedural work without necessarily committing to five days away from home.
The opportunity
This is a hospital-based Radiology role with a strong procedural component.
Tier A intervention / procedural capability is required, ideally including the majority of:
PICC line insertions
Drainage tube procedures
Ultrasound-guided MSK injections
Superficial FNA and biopsy
CT-guided nerve root injections
CT-guided facet joint injections
Supervision of CT colonography
Mildura Base Public Hospital is a significant healthcare hub for Mildura and the wider region.
Choose the working pattern that suits you
There are weeks available across September, October and November 2026.
Two models are available:
Full-week locum
Work the full working week in Mildura, with all travel and accommodation arranged.
Three-day FIFO
Work at least three consecutive days each week, with flexibility around the days.
For Melbourne-based Radiologists in particular, Mildura works well as a FIFO destination, with direct flights taking approximately an hour.
Flights, self-contained accommodation and car hire are provided.
What might a day in Mildura look like?
Start with the short drive into the hospital and grab a coffee before the list begins.
Your working day will combine hospital Radiology with the procedural workload the service specifically needs support with - potentially moving between image-guided biopsies or drainage procedures, MSK injections, CT-guided spinal work and supervision of CT colonography alongside the broader requirements of the department.
Mildura is compact enough to make a locum easy: finish work, head back to your apartment, change, and within minutes you can be walking beside the Murray River or heading into town for dinner.
A locum destination that's easy to enjoy
For a longer stay or a free afternoon, the riverfront is an obvious place to unwind. Locals also recommend Lock 11, the nearby Murray River precinct, wineries and the Perry Sandhills around 30 minutes away at Wentworth.
And for the practical things that matter on a working locum:
Morning coffee: grab one onsite at Café 34, or head into town when you have more time. Mildura has a strong café scene, with blk.mlk regularly recommended locally for specialty coffee.
Easy dinner: Mildura's centre is only a short drive away, with plenty of relaxed options. If you want something uncomplicated after work, Thai-Riffic and Andy's Kitchen are both around two kilometres from the hospital .
