The Position

As a locum GP, you’ll deliver comprehensive care to a diverse patient base, predominantly mining workers and their families, alongside members of the local Indigenous community. This private billing practice offers flexibility, strong support, and high-earning potential.

  • Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call shifts.

  • Patient Base: Primarily mining clients and their families, with a portion of your work dedicated to addressing the unique healthcare needs of the local Indigenous community.

  • Earning Potential: See approximately 4 patients per hour, charging $90 for standard appointments, and additional income opportunities through comprehensive health assessments ($172 per consult).

  • Support System: Benefit from experienced admin staff, collaborative GPs, and access to Paraburdoo Hospital for seamless patient care.

This role offers a balanced mix of clinical challenge, financial reward, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

  • 24 February to late June 2025, with additional opportunities in the second half of the year.

  • Minimum Commitment: Two-week blocks, with extensions welcomed.

The Position

We are seeking a passionate GP to provide vital care to the Borroloola community from now until November 13th, 2024. Your role will focus on delivering culturally appropriate medical services that empower Indigenous communities and address health disparities. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional on-call duties shared with a Nurse on-site, supported by a DMO.

The Community
Borroloola is situated 670 km southeast of Katherine, in the Big Rivers Region of NT Health. It’s a small but vibrant town, home to around 755 people, and includes four Aboriginal town camps within its boundaries. The area is rich in cultural heritage and offers the chance to immerse yourself in the traditions and stories of its Indigenous residents. Borroloola may be remote, but it’s a place where your skills and experience can have a lasting impact.

ASAP to November 13th, 2024.
Minimum 2-week locum, ideally 3 weeks, with the option for extension.

The Position

Based at the Julanimawu Health Centre, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering essential primary healthcare to the local community and surrounding outstations. This is a Monday-to-Friday role with no emergency or weekend work, providing an excellent work-life balance. With support from PHC nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, and the Darwin-based DMO Service, you'll focus solely on primary care, allowing you to truly connect with the community.

  • 03/01/2025 – 28/03/2025

  • We’re looking for a minimum commitment of 3 weeks to ensure you get the full experience. Extensions are available.
