Understanding Our Prescript Quality Standards (PQS): Elevating Medical Recruitment with Excellence

In the dynamic world of medical recruitment, the importance of trust, compliance, and efficiency cannot be overstated. At Prescript Recruitment, our unwavering commitment to these principles is encapsulated in what we call the Prescript Quality Standards (PQS). As the Lead Medical Credentialing Specialist, I take great pride in our PQS framework. It's more than just a checklist—it's the backbone of our promise to both doctors and healthcare facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

What is PQS?

The Prescript Quality Standards (PQS) is our meticulously designed internal framework that ensures every doctor we work with meets a consistent and comprehensive set of checks before starting a locum or permanent position. The idea is simple but powerful: by standardising the credentialing process, we eliminate uncertainty, minimise duplication, and provide peace of mind to our health services and doctors alike.

Every health service we work with—whether a regional hospital, private clinic, or a major city practice—has its unique requirements. This variability can often lead to frustration with redundant paperwork and delayed placements. That’s where PQS steps in. It serves as a foundational standard, ensuring that all essential checks are completed upfront and consistently.

The Heart of Our PQS Checklist

Our comprehensive PQS framework covers a range of essential checks to guarantee that each doctor is "job ready." Some of the core elements include:

  • PQS Prescript Interview Report: An in-depth interview with one of our expert medical recruitment partners.

  • PQS Registration and Disclosure: Doctors are officially registered with Prescript and must answer a series of disclosure questions.

  • PQS Medical Board Registration Check: Verification of a doctor’s registration with the Medical Board.

  • Identification and Qualification Proof: We require copies of essential documents like driving licenses, passports, primary degrees, and fellowship certificates.

  • Updated CV and Work History: Ensuring all doctors have an up-to-date resume reflecting their most recent roles and experiences.

  • Right to Work Verification: Citizenship and visa checks to confirm legal work eligibility.

  • Google Keyword Search and Reference Reports: Conducting thorough online searches and obtaining at least two (preferably three) reference reports to ensure credibility and competence.

Why PQS Matters

The PQS framework was born out of a necessity to streamline our credentialing processes while maintaining the highest standards. Here’s why it matters:

  • Consistency Across All Placements: Regardless of the location or type of health service, every Prescript doctor undergoes the same rigorous checks. This consistency is crucial for building trust with our health services.

  • Enhanced Doctor Applications: Our doctors' applications stand out with a well-organised and comprehensive set of documentation, reducing delays and increasing placement opportunities.

  • Minimised Paperwork Duplication: PQS simplifies the process by minimising redundant paperwork, saving doctors and healthcare facilities time.

Going Above and Beyond: PQS Audits and Certifications

We adhere to external and internal audit cycles for PQS to further cement our commitment to excellence. Our credentialing processes are certified by JAS-ANZ accredited auditors, Certex, ensuring we meet specific standards, particularly for ISO 9001 and NSW Health. Additionally, our internal teams—credentialing, management, and recruitment—conduct tri-annual reviews to refine and enhance our procedures continuously.

As members of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) and the Association of Medical Recruiters of Australia and New Zealand (AMRANZ), we are committed to providing a legally compliant, ethical, and professional service. PQS is more than just a set of rules; it's our assurance that every doctor and client experience the highest standards of care and service.
