Prescript Recruitment Turns Three!

3 year anniversary.png

Hello!

I wanted to make sure the milestone of Prescript turning three was celebrated. I am incredibly lucky to work with a wonderful team.  Thank you to Nicola Speer, Stef McLaughlin, Hugo Scales, Marcia Beere and Grace Clueit for helping make Prescript such a great place.

I also want to acknowledge the contribution and hard work of past Prescript team-members - Ian Ormesher, Elissa Slingsby and Georgia Stratford.

We want to be known for helping solve the regional doctor shortage, leaving doctors loving what they do and regional communities feeling like they have the best doctors in town.

Prescript also believes that every business has the power to change lives by giving back through its everyday activities. Every time we help a doctor with the next step in their career we also contribute towards medical coverage in Odede, Western Kenya. Our BIG goal is to pay a doctor's salary for an entire year, plus assist with food, clean water and power at the Community Health Centre. All this is made possible through our lifetime partnership with B1G1.

About Prescript Recruitment

At Prescript we’re known for helping solve the regional doctor shortage in Australia.

Every day we’re focused on two clear outcomes - Helping hospitals find doctors that create departments and clinics that run better, have more capacity and less stress. And placing Doctors in jobs that leave them feeling highly valued, rewarded and, most importantly, enjoying what they do.

We believe that when we get these two crucial things right, it has a huge impact on the regional doctor shortage and the healthcare of communities across Australia.

Being a 'Business for Good'

Image 2.jpg

B1G1 & My Role

Everyone is motivated by something, whether that be financial gain, achievement or power, for me it is more of a social factor. I have a genuine passion for positively contributing to the lives of others.

One of my key roles at Prescript, which I don’t talk about enough, is my responsibility to our Buy1Give1 partnership. At Prescript, our focus is to ensure that rural and regional communities have access to the healthcare that they deserve. This motivates me on a day to day basis, and through our involvement with B1G1, we do this on a global level too.

Every month I collect our data and analyse our business activities. I then update the Prescript team and let everyone know how their work has directly affected a rural community further afield – the Odede community in western Kenya.

Each time someone does business with us, something great happens in the world. We actively contribute to many life-changing impacts, but for today I wanted to talk about our main goal.

For every locum or permanent position that a doctor accepts through Prescript, we pay towards a doctor’s salary so they can continue to provide crucial healthcare to families living in extreme poverty in Odede.

Our big goal is to pay for a doctor’s salary for an entire year! So far, we have provided over four months, or 128 days to be precise.

The Odede Community Health Centre is located in a rural community where most people live on less than $1 a day. Doctors provide life-saving medical care every day for children and families in Odede.

To see more about how this all works, watch the video below to learn about the recent B1G1 study tour to Kenya. The video provides an insight into the incredible impacts which are being made every single day and at around the 3 minutes mark, there is a clip of the community we are helping; Odede.

Overall, B1G1 is something I am extremely proud of. I am proud of what we have achieved and genuinely love that our work directly impacts lives, not just here within my home, Australia, but also overseas.

There are two ways to become a part of the B1G1 giving community. The first option is to work with Prescript through one of our many day-to-day business activities (such as confirming a locum assignment, referring another doctor to us or even completing a reference for a colleague). Or, you can visit the B1G1 website by clicking here and make a direct contribution.

Locum Radiologist for Coastal Queensland $3500 per day

Do you have a week free in 2018 to locum in Queensland?

Would you like to earn $3500 per day?

Prescript Recruitment is partnering with three sites in Queensland who are looking to cover dates between now and end of 2018.  You have the choice of staying in resort-style accommodation by the coast (self-contained, possibly with a pool) or in a city apartment (where you can walk to work).

Benefits?

As well as a great daily rate of $3500, you will also have return economy flights from any location in Australian or New Zealand paid for.  Car hire and indemnity are covered, plus accommodation for your family if you bring them.

The locum will be tailored around your skills and experience – there are three sites with different requirements.  Request a full practice overview from Prescript.

Dates available:

1 week blocks between now and end of 2018. You would work Monday to Friday and there are no after-hours / on call reporting requirements.

Our credentialing manager, Stef Ormesher, will help manage all the paperwork and logistics. All you have to do is let us know when you are free.

Why Queensland?

Lonely Planet says “Australia’s holiday haven offers beaches, reefs, jungles, uptempo locals and a laid-back tropical pace of life.”

The climate is sizzling in the Summer and Mediterranean in the Winter. Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney are only a quick flight away.

Not entirely sure about a locum in Queensland? Talk to Prescript Recruitment, we have written our own location report which is full of great things to do and see. We are sure you and your family will love exploring.

What are we looking for?

You will have your FRANZCR and AHPRA specialist registration.  You must be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen.

Please note that $3500 per day is dependent on your skills profile and the locum location (not every Queensland coastal site offers $3500 per day).

Application process:

You can enquire via this website or you can contact me (James Hill) at Prescript Recruitment – james@prescript.com.au // 1300 755 498 – very happy to answer any questions.

First stage is an informal conversation with Prescript for you to decide if you want to proceed – you will need to share your CV and we will talk about the position, the company and the location. You can let us know if you want to bring your family and if you have any special requirements.

Second stage is an informal application – we will arrange a phone call or a review of your skills with the practice managers to establish if this is going to be a good fit.

Third stage – if you’re happy then Prescript will send you a locum confirmation to say ‘congratulations – all booked!’

Fourth stage – Prescript will help manage all the paperwork and logistics. All you have to do is look forward to starting!

B1G1 Business For Good

B1G1-member-symbol-blue-h.png

As a B1G1 Business For Good, Prescript Recruitment embeds giving in our everyday business activities. Each time we place a doctor in regional Australia we also contribute to medical support to the Odede community, Western Kenya.

Situated on the banks of Lake Victoria, the tiny village of Odede is located in the Rarieda district of Nyanza Province. Much of the local population are rural, subsistence farmers living in extreme poverty (less than $2.50 per day). The communities have limited access to basic infrastructure and services such as health and education.

The district is home to some of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in the country, with an estimated one in four people living with HIV  (four times the national rate).

Maternal and infant mortality rates are also unacceptably high; an estimated 55 out of every 1000 babies die before their first birthday each year (WHO 2010). Many of these children are dying from malaria and other preventable illnesses like diarrhoea.
