The Position

Do you have an interest in providing primary care in some of the Northern Territory’s most spectacular regions? Prescript is working with an Indigenous Health provider for the communities of Gunbalanya and Borroloola, who require Specialist GPs for clinic work between August and October.

Work is undertaken in a multi-disciplinary team where you will be helping as one of two GPs in the practices. Clinical support is provided via Aerial Medical Services and tertiary care at the Royal Darwin Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for GPs with experience in Aboriginal Medical Services, or new Fellows with an interest in Indigenous Health who can commit to a short term locum block.

★ Primary Care/Indigenous Health position – no ED requirements

★ No on-call, weekend or public holiday work

★ Some rural travel to outposts in Wadeye or Robinson River required

★ Induction/training day in Darwin provided  

★ Two-week locum blocks

★ Ongoing opportunities with the health service across several sites

➞ Monday-Friday – 0800-1700

➞ Must be able to cover the full two-week block due to scheduled chartered flights

What We’re Looking For

Specialist AHPRA Registration

FRACGP or FACRRM

Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen, NZ citizen, or other relevant work visa

Previous experience with AMS/Indigenous health desirable
