GP Community Role – Unique Remote Locum In The Kimberleys, WA

The Position

Are you passionate about primary health care in remote indigenous communities? Prescript has an exciting role for a travel-eager and clinically experienced GP in Fitzroy Crossing. This is a rare opportunity to be very well remunerated for general practice work in remote WA, with no requirement for ED or other proceduralist skills.

★ You will be working as part of a medical team in Fitzroy Valley, visiting different communities for primary health clinics Monday to Friday; not one day will be the same!

★ This challenging locum role will really test your skills and experience. These essential medical visits with some of the most remote communities in the Kimberley will be a once in a lifetime experience.

★ It enables a wide scope of clinical practice in Indigenous Health while working closely within a supportive team of friendly staff.

★ Fitzroy Crossing town comprises less than half the population of the Valley. The remainder is spread around surrounding communities. Communities are often based on family groups or language groups. There are four language groups in the Valley.

★ Bunaba (traditional owners), Gooniyandi (river people), Wangkatjunka & Walmarjarri (desert people). The population throughout is very transient, but greatly assisted by computerised medical records (Communicare).

★ The nurses work in partnership with the Aboriginal communities, organisations, other health service providers, Government Departments and agencies to provide Primary Health Care in remote communities.
