FRANZCR Radiologists I You Really Can Live The Dream I Work 7 On 7 Off From Overseas I Teleradiology

Rebecca Doyle

The Position

Are you interested in something a bit different? Does the idea of working seven days on/seven days off in an overseas location sound appealing? Maybe you want to stay in Australia and New Zealand and have more flexibility around your life here?

Teleradiology allows you to have it all - a career that will give you the freedom to travel, be financially rewarding and also maintain and enhance your professional development.

Imagine the wonderful lifestyle you would have working half the year from an overseas destination! What would you do with the spare time?  Perhaps you would travel and explore? Maybe you’d immerse yourself into the culture? Or, if you are returning to your home country, maybe you would spend precious time with family and old friends? All of this can be possible while having guaranteed earnings plus the ability to earn generously on top.

Wherever you decide to work, you will be helping public hospitals and private radiology groups in Australia and New Zealand with their emergency, trauma and after-hours reporting. Having global coverage with FRANZCR Radiologists means there is 24/7 access and support for regional communities when they need it most.

Plus, the best thing about your overseas Teleradiology career is that you only report during your daytime hours.

There are not many opportunities where you can travel, explore and work as a Radiologist at the same time. Whether you choose to work from a dedicated reporting office or a home office, you will still be part of an excellent reporting environment with the support of a well-trained and efficient QA team and the backing of state-of-the-art IT.

Perhaps you would like to spend a year in Italy, immersing yourself in the rich and romantic culture it has to offer, taking off to other parts of Europe on your weeks off.

Maybe you prefer the action-packed city life but would like to split your travel, so you spend half the year in London and half the year in New York. There is so much to do in both cities, plus you’d also be able to use your 7-days off to escape to the many attractive destinations right there on your doorstep.

Or if you want to avoid winter all together, you could always plan half your year in Cape Town or Perth, with the other half the year in Toronto or Vancouver.

Teleradiology allows you to have it all - a career that will give you the freedom to travel, be financially rewarding and also maintain and enhance your professional development.

The Impact You'll Have

From overseas, you will be working during your awake/daylight hours for public hospitals and private radiology providers in Australia and NZ helping to manage their after-hours and urgent reporting. With a large proportion of trauma and emergency cases to report on, this role makes a huge difference to regional communities who need your skills.

If you are working from Australia/New Zealand on the seven-on-seven off roster, you will be working afternoon or evening shifts, depending on where you live. Alternatively, you also have the option to work 10 days out of 14 which includes day time shifts.

The caseload will be exciting and varied with interesting pathologies, and you will enjoy the support of highly trained clinical operations and technical support staff. Patient care is the primary concern, so speed and accuracy must be balanced.  Because you will be completing after-hours and urgent reporting when Emergency & Trauma CTs are in higher demand, you can expect that 60-70% of reports are CTs, with MRIs, X-rays and US making up the balance.
