When you visit Canberra, be prepared to experience one good thing after another. Whether it's world-class wining and dining, iconic national treasures or outdoor adventures, everything you're after is just an easy distance away.

The planned design in a rural setting makes Canberra the perfect combination of the city and the great outdoors.

About Your Role

Are you looking to gain valuable experience that will help shape your career? Would you like to make a difference to the healthcare within a regional community?

These fixed-term contracts can offer you a wide range of RMO rotations to ensure you gain varied experience. The positions can range anywhere from three months to one year (and maybe even longer!).

Call or email Marcia Beere (Prescript’s Recruitment Partner) to find out more:

Lifestyle Features

Lonely Planet recently named our beloved capital as the third best city to visit in the world! Canberra is finally soaking up the spotlight it deserves, and you can bet that we’re proud as punch to be Canberran right now.
— Lonely Planet, 2018

You will be working in a very interesting city with an excellent restaurant and bar scene, high-quality education facilities and beautiful parklands throughout. Living here means that you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to cultural attractions including live music, galleries and museums.

Surrounded by forest, farmland and nature reserves.  Canberra is a planned city with wide boulevards lined with large buildings and green open areas surrounding spacious suburbs.  The focal point is Lake Burley Griffin, with its impressive water-jet fountain.

Canberra is the best location to explore Australia's culture and heritage through its many galleries, museums and the old & new federal parliament buildings.

THINGS TO DO AND SEE

The Australian War Memorial – very moving with exhibits from dioramas of battlefields to modern interactive displays

New Parliament House – daily, free guided tours. See the House of Representatives and the Senate and stand on the roof, under the giant flagpole and admire the view.

Galleries – the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia are great to explore and show key moments and people which help tell the story about Australian identity.

The Annual Floriade Festival – flowers (in their thousands), plants, music and market stalls. It gets incredibly busy, but worth going for the atmosphere.

Lake Burley Griffin – cycle around its 35-kilometre perimeter, or if that is too ambitious you put on your trainers and walk/jog certain scenic sections.  From a certain look-out point, you can see Yarralumla, which is the official residence of the Governor-General and where The Queen stays on her visits. You can also enjoy a relaxing boat cruise across the lake, while the tour guide tells you about the interesting history and facts of the surrounds.

This position will have a huge impact in the local region – you will be joining a value-driven hospital where mentoring and training is well integrated with the clinical service.
