The Position

Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultants, would you like to work in and explore outback NT? This is a really special locum assignment to support the Indigenous community and the opportunity to see some of the most iconic monuments in Australia. 

★ Work within a team of four doctors providing quality maternity services to some of the most rural communities in Australia.

★ This urgent locum role in Alice Springs has come up to due to existing O&G Consultants on leave.

★ Alice Springs hospital includes 160 beds and services 47,000 residents across all central Northern Territory, and the referral services for OB extends to the borders of WA, SA, and QLD. It also services Tennant Creek, Barkly and Alice springs areas. 

★ Two blocks of dates are available from 28th February to 11th March 2022, and 25th April to 27 May 2022.

★ Weekends are not required for this role.  

★ Consultants will need to work across the clinics and labour ward. 

★ There is dedicated registrar support at this location, they do not use rural generalists for support. Alice Springs sees roughly 800 births per year. The hospital sees low and medium risk patients and high-risk patients are often sent to Adelaide hospitals.

Work In A Highly Regarded Hospital – Neurologist Locum - Canberra

The Position

Neurology consultants, are you available to locum in Canberra from 18th to 24th April 2022?

★ This highly regarded hospital has been established since 1987 and provides quality services to the Canberra community.  This teaching hospital has partnerships with some of the top universities in Australia including ANU – offering a great CV building location to work in.

★ 256-bed hospital located in the northern suburbs of Canberra and a popular destination for Neurologist Consultant locums.

★ Marcia Beere (Prescript’s Credentialing Team Manager) previously worked at this highly regarded hospital and has very positive feedback on the Neurology department and it’s leadership!

★ General working hours will be Monday to Friday with on-call responsibilities on the weekend - shifts run 0800 to 0800 24 hour on call.

★ Consultant Neurologists will be in the clinics from Monday to Friday ward rounds in the mornings and in the afternoons covering neurology and stroke cases as per the waitlist and triage category. 

★ Neurologists will need to attend to acute stroke calls. Other admissions can be done via phone advice or with a medical registrars assistance based on the consultant’s discretion. There will not be an AT or fellow support for after hours or weekends. Typical number of calls per night can vary but can be up to 4 or 5.

★ If you have a special skill in another area (Epilepsy etc), you will be given cases that suit your skill sets as they become available.  Most cases will be across General Neurology and Stroke cases.

Northern NSW - General Medicine Registrar COVID Ward Locum

The Position

Would you like to explore and work in Northern NSW? Prescript has General Medicine Registrar locum shifts in a Covid Ward from January to April 2022.  

This 260-bed teaching facility operates as a trauma centre for the Northern NSW area. This hospital does take all medicine patients, including COVID cases, with dedicated COVID wards established. You will need to be able to work across all areas of medicine, including the COVID wards. 

★ Dates available from 27th of January to the 10th April 2022.  

★ You will be working across one hospital location. However, there will be nearby hospital shifts offered during your locum period if you decide to stay.

★ Hours are based on the roster and include 10-hour shifts on nights from 2230-0830.

★ This hospital offers services across ED, ICU, General Medicine, Surgical, Paediatric, Obstetrics, Mental health, Coronary Care, Cardiac Rehab, Oncology and outpatient clinics.

★ Doctors are expected to be able to cover all medical wards, including the COVID ward, depending on how they are rostered. This will be discussed at the time a roster is provided, and preferences can be listed.

Locum Registrars & RMOs - QLD - Paediatrics, O&G, Medicine

The Position

Prescript is delighted to share this locum role for Registrars and RMOs interested in working close to Australia’s iconic Great Barrier Reef in 2022 and 2023.

Located just an hour and 20 minutes flight from Brisbane, this modern purpose-built fully digitized hospital offers easy access to tropical rainforests and the Whitsundays and Airlie beach during your time off.

We've had positive feedback from recent locums working at this health service that the staff are all very accommodating and friendly.

This 354-bed hospital offers 24-hour services across cardiac intervention, trauma service, medical specialities including oncology, Rheumatology, endocrine, neurology, nephrology, and respiratory services.

Working hours are 76 to 80 hours in a fortnight, working 8/12 hour shifts - This can be discussed with the rostering team. Roster will consist of day, evening and weekend work; please put forth your availability and preferences - work as little as one week.

➞ Senior Paediatrics Registrar

➞ PHO - Medicine – Registrar/Senior RMO

Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Sapphire Coast NSW – Weekend Locums

The Position

O&G Consultants – are you available for weekend locums on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of NSW?

Weekend dates are available during every month of the year through to December 2022. This is an incredible opportunity to make forward plans well in advance, name your rate, and be a massive help to the local community!

★ Spend your time off indulging in oysters and experiencing world-class surf beaches. As told by the locals there is a fabulous fish and chips shop within 15 minutes of the hospital too!

★ This regional teaching hospital is a modern facility that's been in operation for six years, and they pride themselves on quality services and a popular return destination for locums. The hospital provides services across ED, paediatrics, operating theatres, medical/surgical inpatient beds, maternity, critical care, renal, oncology, mental health, and a recently opened sub-acute rehab unit. 

★ The hospital servicing area extends from Mallacoota down to Bateman's Bay. This hospital provides teaching opportunities, and locums will need to participate in supporting other doctors.

★ Working hours start at 0800, and doctors have on-call responsibilities to cover from 1630 to 0800 the following day.

★ Doctors are required to work the labour ward and have on-call duties.  Unsupervised Caesareans are required. Registrar support is available from 0800 to 2230 weekdays and 0900-1900 weekends.

  • Monday to Friday 0800 to 1630 - public holidays and weekends not required

Fantastic Daily Rate - Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant - Coastal WA

The Position

Are you a WA-based O&G Specialist and available to locum? This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive team of staff, whilst earning a fantastic rate of up to $3450 per day.

★ There are three week-blocks of shifts available starting Monday 17th January to Saturday 5th February 2022. The hospital will consider one- or two-week blocks if you can cover a certain time period within these dates.

★ This modern purpose-built facility offers inpatient and outpatient services. It is comprised of a 24 hr ED, two operating theatres, special care nursery, medical/surgical, HDU, and obstetrics and paediatric services.

★ Fun fact: The facility itself is purpose-built to withstand extreme weather and temperature variations throughout the year to keep you comfortable on your shifts.

★ Weekend work is not required, one public holiday is included in second week of work.

★ Consultants will be responsible for unsupervised caesareans and all low and medium risk births; high-risk births will be triaged to Perth. There are two birthing suites and eight obstetrics beds, and a level 2 special care nursery. Consultants will manage the labour ward and participate in the clinics.

★ Registrar support will be available.
