Canberra is the best location to explore Australia's culture and heritage through its many galleries, museums and the old & new federal parliament buildings. Known as the ‘Bush Capital’, it is surrounded by forest, farmland and nature reserves. Canberra is a planned city with wide boulevards lined with large buildings and green open areas surrounding spacious suburbs. The focal point is Lake Burley Griffin, with its impressive water-jet fountain.
