The Position
Portland District Health provides is an integrated health service that provides acute, primary health, and aged residential care services. They are looking for a locum HMO for night duty for April and May dates.
★ Providing 24 hour / 7 days a week service, the urgent care centre (through the emergency department) would be expecting the doctor to work independently with on-call support.
★ They see about 10k presentations per annum - majority are cat 3,4 & 5, with 9 beds made up of 3 hot zone, 6 cold zone, including 1 resus.
★ On-call support is available from Physicians, Surgeons, Paediatricians, Anaesthetists and O&G Consultants.
Portland, Victoria, is a 4-hour drive from Melbourne, and is the oldest European settlement in the state. It is also the main urban centre in the Shire of Glenelg and is located on Portland Bay.
There’s so much to do and see in this pretty nature-filled town during your time off or perhaps add on some time before or after your locum? Enjoy gorgeous cafes and restaurants, excellent hiking trails, beautiful national parks and beaches. Portland is also full to the brim with wildlife... Maybe you’d like to go cage diving with some Australian Furr Seals? Or perhaps a spot of whale watching!
