The Position

Considering honing your skills in an unspoiled coastal town in the NT? Do you have recent obstetrics experience and an interest in indigenous health?

Prescript has both a locum and permanent opportunity for GP Obstetricians interested in working in/relocating to one of the most idyllic parts of rural Australia.

You will be based in the remote hospital, providing specialist services and general medical inpatient coverage for the whole region.

The Gove Peninsula is at the northeastern corner of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. Owned by the traditional Aboriginal owners, the Yolngu people, it is a place rich in culture with Yolngu maintaining strong ties with their land, religion, and traditions.

During your time off, there is so much scenery and beauty to enjoy… Beautiful beaches, lagoons, and walking trails. Experience the colourful and rich coral reefs in the clear waters - There is drift, deep, and multi-level diving available, and many reefs and offshore islands to explore.

Locum dates available from July onwards:

★ $2000 per day plus GST

★ Day shift, night shift, and on-call

The Benefits

★ MMM7 location – significantly reduce your moratorium if applicable

★ $190,000 – $206,500 p.a. – less than 4 years post-fellowship experience

★ $224,000 – $232,000 p.a. – more than 5 years post-fellowship experience

★ Pro-Rata payment for part-time, fixed-term roles

★ $2000 per day locum only rate

★ Travel and accommodation provided or supplied housing for permanent contracts

★ Family-friendly town with short daily flights from Darwin and Cairns

★ Spectacular equatorial coastal location
