The Position
Are you interested in something a bit different?
➝ Does the idea of working seven days on followed by seven days off in an overseas location sound appealing?
➝ Or perhaps you're a night owl or early bird and would like to stay in Australia or New Zealand where you'll be working evening, night, or early morning shifts, depending on which timezone you live in?
Teleradiology allows you to have it all - a career that is financially rewarding, the freedom to work globally, and the ability to maintain and enhance your professional development.
Imagine having half the year off! What would you do with the spare time?
▪️ Maybe you’d immerse yourself into the culture of your chosen country?
▪️ Or, if you are returning to your native country, maybe you would spend precious time with family and old friends who you’ve been separated from through the COVID pandemic?
All of this can be possible while keeping your Australian/New Zealand experience and CPD current.
Wherever you decide to work, you will be helping public hospitals and private radiology groups in Australia and New Zealand with their emergency, trauma and after-hours reporting. Having global coverage with FRANZCR Radiologists means there is 24/7 access and support for regional communities when they need it most.
Plus, the best thing about your overseas teleradiology career is that you only report during your daytime hours.
There are not many opportunities where you can live globally while working as a Radiologist for Australian & New Zealand clinics and health services. Whether you choose to work from a dedicated reporting office or a home office, you will still be part of an excellent reporting environment with the support of a well-trained and efficient QA team and the backing of state-of-the-art IT.

Why Join This Healthcare Organisation
You will be joining a global and trusted provider in teleradiology to become part of their team working across the world. You can choose from locations such as Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada, South Africa and mainland Europe.
They firmly believe that their Radiologists are the heart of the business and therefore prioritise ensuring all Radiologists are well supported and have a close-knit team they can call on at any time. They are committed to quality assurance and have integrated audit/peer reviews into their clinical framework.
Lifestyle Features
There are so many different lifestyles to imagine with a rare opportunity like this…
You could return to your native home for a year to spend precious time with family and friends, using your weeks off to ensure quality catch-ups are had with all, whilst also getting your own necessary downtime or playtime.
Perhaps you would like to spend a year in Italy, immersing yourself in the rich and romantic culture it has to offer, taking off to other parts of Europe on your weeks off when travel opens up again.
Maybe you and your family are looking for a tree change and want to experience a year in Canada, embracing and exploring all of its natural beauty, and teaching the kids to ski!
Or perhaps city life is something you’ve always wanted to experience? London, New York, Cape Town... the list goes on.
Teleradiology allows you to have it all - a career that’s financially rewarding, the freedom to work globally for only 26 weeks of the year, and the ability to maintain and enhance your professional development.
What We’re Looking For
There are a limited number of positions available and can include working from overseas or within Australia and New Zealand.
You would work seven days on/seven days off (or could work a 10-day fortnight from Aus/NZ if preferred).
Overseas locations can include (but not limited to) the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa and mainland Europe.
Work from either a dedicated reporting office or a home station.
Looking to explore different parts of the world when travel opens up again? You can stay in the same place for the duration of your contract or alternatively move to other global offices every 6+ months.
For all positions:
➝ You will have FRANZCR
➝ You will have either Specialist Registration with AHPRA or Vocational Registration with MCNZ
➝ Current emergency and trauma reporting experience
➝ Commitment for 1 to 2-year period
Who this role would suit:
➝ New FRANZCR Radiologists who would like to work overseas before settling on a new career path in Australia
➝ Overseas trained FRANZCR Radiologists who'd like to return to their native home for a year or two while maintaining their Australian work experience
➝ FRANZCR Radiologists who have completed their overseas Fellowship and want to extend their stay in that country
➝ Semi-retirees who have the freedom to go live overseas but want to keep their work experience/CPD up
➝ Young families who want to travel before their children are school age
The Impact You’ll Have
From overseas, you will be working during your awake/daylight hours for public hospitals and private radiology providers in Australia and NZ, helping to manage their after-hours and urgent reporting. With a large proportion of trauma and emergency cases to report on, this role makes a significant difference to regional communities that need your skills.
If you are working from Australia/New Zealand on the seven-on-seven off roster, you will be working afternoon, evening shifts, or early morning shifts, depending on where you live.
The caseload will be exciting and varied with interesting pathologies, and you will enjoy the support of highly trained clinical operations and technical support staff. Patient care is the primary concern, so speed and accuracy must be balanced. Because you will be completing after-hours and urgent reporting when Emergency & Trauma CTs are in higher demand, you can expect that 60-70% of reports are CTS, with MRIs, X-rays and US making up the balance.
