An attractive, lucrative permanent position for a FRANZCR radiologist is available – This role is open also to DWS (District of Workforce Shortage) meaning overseas trained doctors who are eligible are encouraged to apply too.

Are you available to assist with a locum vacancy in the capital? The Canberra Hospital is seeking RMO (PGY3+) cover from the 2nd July to the 11th November 2018. 

  • 7 days on 7 days off (commencing Monday to Sunday)
  • $100.00 per hr, plus super with salary packaging available

About your role

You'll be working on a 7-days-on 7-days-off roster, accommodation is provided onsite, and travel will be reimbursed. You can expect your shift times to be; Monday - Friday: 2100 - 0830 and; Saturday – Sunday: 2030 - 0830. 

The Hospital

The Canberra Hospital is a 600-bed tertiary referral centre, serving a population of 650,000 from the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding South-eastern New South Wales (NSW). It supports all major acute specialties apart from major burns and organ transplantation.

The Location

Known as “The Bush Capital” due to its planned design in a rural setting, Canberra is a very liveable city with excellent restaurants, high-quality schools and beautiful parklands throughout. Short commutes are the norm, leaving you more time to spend enjoying the great outdoors and perhaps cycling, skiing, running or bush-walking.

About the Role

Currently, the service has an 18-bed general rehabilitation ward dealing with a wide case mix of adult rehabilitation. This ranges from stroke/neurological, amputee, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic & multiple trauma. There is extensive exposure to the Indigenous culture & opportunities for Outreach clinics.

Outpatient clinics cover prosthetics/orthotics, chronic pain & brain injury. The multidisciplinary rehabilitation service is based within the hospital campus. The consultant position supervises advanced trainees & RMOs.

The Hospital

Your new hospital currently employs 2 advanced AFRM trainees,  Rehabilitation Consultants & has a dedicated level 4 multi-disciplinary inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation service. 

The hospital is expanding its services to a new 116-bed regional hospital, 20-minutes from the major 360-bed hospital. It is currently being built & will open in 2018. Supporting a large range of specialities & junior medical officer teaching, the National Critical Care & Trauma Response Centre is also based here.
