Urgent Covid Ward Locums - Medical Officers - Sydney, NSW

The Position

During the pandemic, Sydney based medical officers have provided ongoing local locum assistance in respiratory clinics, vaccine centres and dedicated Covid wards across the metropolitan area. There is now an urgent requirement at one of the largest hospitals at the forefront of the Covid response in NSW.

Prescript has multiple positions available in the Covid ward in Central Sydney, commencing as soon as possible for at least the next three months.

Your contribution to this hospital is crucial and will be greatly appreciated. You’ll be making a significant impact on the wider community – supporting patients during a very critical time.

★ You’ll be working in a dedicated Covid building, either on the 60-bed ward or the 10-bed ICU.

★ Shifts are 12 hours in length, 0800-2000 & 2000-0800, days or nights

★ Suitable for PGY2+ with General AHPRA Registration, previous Covid-ward experience is not necessary

★ Full made-to-measure personal PPE is provided

★ Respiratory/ICU Physicians on during the day, local CMOs are in charge overnight with Consultants on-call after-hours

★ ICU/Medicine CMOs are encouraged to apply. CMOs able to work for 2-3 months may have the opportunity to do some in-charge shifts overnight

★ There are shower areas in the ward and a donning station, so you’ll be able to leave and remove PPE and refresh on your breaks/before and after shifts

★ Both wards are staffed by Consultants, CMOs, Registrars and Junior Medical Officers in a well supported and collegiate environment

Prescript is keeping up to date with all border and travel restrictions and will help make your locum as smooth and stress-free as possible. Contact us to discuss, and we’ll advise what rules apply to you, tailored to your situation and location.
