Rural Generalists – Locum At The Gateway To The Whitsundays! May-Oct 2023

Have you thought about visiting one of Australia’s most spectacular tourist destinations whilst working in a popular and supportive hospital? This rare locum opportunity will see you testing your Rural Generalist skills in a well-regarded 35-bed facility, with the opportunity to enjoy Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays on your rostered days off.

Whilst there are 2x positions available for this long-term vacancy, rates have been increased for the duration and week blocks are filling up quickly. Get in touch ASAP if you would like to spend your winter in this coastal paradise. 

The Position

★ You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team providing on-site emergency medicine services at Proserpine Hospital and potential GP clinic commitments

★ Long-term locum opportunity from May to October but shorter blocks will be considered

★ 2x Rural Generalist positions available – perfect for couples or friends wanting to work together

★ GP trainees with advanced ED skills will be considered

★ Approximately 5 shifts per week around a roster

★ Support from local SMOs, proceduralists and junior medical officers

★ The hospital is situated 20 minutes from Airlie Beach and the gateway to the spectacular Whitsundays

★ Easily accessible with direct flights from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney

★ Increased rates (dependent on experience) for the duration of the vacancy

Dates Available

➞ 1st May – 30th October

➞ Approximately 10 shifts per fortnight - shifts around a roster (Mon-Sun)

➞ Shared on-call responsibilities

Who We’re Looking For

Specialist or General AHPRA Registration

Fellowship or advanced trainee of RACGP or ACRRM
