Psychiatrist Locum - Hunter New England - $2k Per Day - Three Settings

Psychiatrists, are you able to locum in NSW? Prescript has dates in Hunter New England from January to April 2021, for three different settings: Inpatient, PES, or Inpatient & Community.

Inpatient

◾️Monday 4th January – Friday 15th January 2021

Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES)

◾️Monday 1st February - Friday 26th February 2021

Combined Inpatient & Community Role

◾️Monday 25th January – Friday 26th February 2021

◾️Monday 1st March – Wednesday 28th April 2021 (part-time locum)

Locum Details

Inpatient

Monday 4th January – Friday 15th January 2021.

◾️Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00.

◾️No on-call or weekends.

◾️This position is supported by two registrars (one being a senior registrar) as well as support from a Nurse Manager and other psychiatrists.

◾️The Clinical Director is also available for any clinical concerns.

◾️This position will look after 2 x teams of 6 inpatients each with a registrar and see one patient per day potentially in the outpatient department.

 
Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES)

Monday 1st February - Friday 26th February 2021.

◾️Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00.

◾️No on-call, weekends or public holidays.

◾️You will be responsible for the management of patients in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) which has eight beds as well as the Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) which has four short-stay beds for patients presenting to emergency.

◾️You will be supported by registrars in this role and will also need to assist them with acute management of patients and in generating management plans. This involves either discharge with follow up arranged or admitting the patient to hospital.  

◾️This is a 24-hour service providing psychiatric assessment and treatment for people with a serious mental illness.

◾️It is a busy unit that takes patients who self-present, come with community mental health staff, are referred from the adjacent hospital emergency department or are brought in by emergency services.

◾️Medical support (a rapid response) is available from the adjacent general hospital.

 

Inpatient and Community

Monday 25th January – Friday 26th February 2021 - Monday to Friday.

Monday 1st March – Wednesday 28th April 2021 (part-time locum) - Monday to Wednesday.

◾️08:30-17:00.

◾️No on-call, weekends or public holidays.

◾️In this locum, you’ll provide comprehensive psychiatric care for inpatients and community psychiatric patients.

◾️You will be supported by registrars and a JMO.

◾️The community mental health service consists of a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and occupational therapists and incorporates medical, psychological and social interventions.
