We’d love to hear from O&G Registrars interested in locuming in Australia’s capital. Dates are currently available for a 6-month period - 7 Aug 2023 to 4 Feb 2024 (can split into smaller blocks).

Canberra has so much to offer... Festivals and Events. Good Food and Wine. This really is a unique city; everything is so close and beautiful. In the morning, you can explore the latest exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia, while in the afternoon, you can choose to hike up Mount Ainslie.

The Position
Supporting the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, your role will encompass evaluating and attending to all patients who present to the department. This includes making informed decisions regarding their treatment and care, as well as coordinating the involvement of specialised medical personnel as needed.
Collaborating closely with a dedicated team comprising a Consultant, SRMO and RMO who are on-site until 10 pm, and Surgical and General Medical teams who work overnight, you will collectively strive to deliver exceptional healthcare to patients in need.
There is a mix of day, night and weekend shifts available. You’ll be earning a great hourly rate of $160-$180, depending on roster/shift, and accommodation is provided.

About Jo Weaver
Having worked with many of the team members in my previous role, they recognised my skills and experience in the health field and thought that I could bring valuable knowledge and tools to the organisation. It’s a pleasure to be a part of the Prescript team.
I am a dedicated recruitment professional with an extensive background in the healthcare industry. I began my career at a sole-doctor GP practice and during my 17 years there, I helped grow the practice to nine staff members, including four doctors, four part-time receptionists, and myself. Seeking to broaden my knowledge, I then transitioned to Medical Workforce at a small rural public hospital where I enjoyed building relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff.
My experience working with hospitals and practices enables me to put myself in both health services and doctors’ shoes and truly understand their recruitment needs from their perspective.
Professionally, I am driven by contributing 100% of the time, doing the very best I can to make doctors feel happy and fulfilled in their positions. Personally, my driving force is family. I am there to support them, be involved, nurture, and watch them grow.
In my role, I am passionate about achieving good outcomes, placing doctors in vacant roles, building relationships with medical professionals, and filling organisational roster gaps with locums. In doing so, I hope to contribute to the Prescript’s growth, success, and our mission of solving the regional doctor shortage in Australia.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, growing my own veggies, cooking, and trying new recipes. I am also an avid reader of murder/crime mysteries.
