Locum GP – Aboriginal Medical Service – Canberra, ACT – January 2022
The Position
Are you a General Practitioner with availability to assist in a locum capacity in Canberra? Prescript is urgently seeking VR GPs with an interest or prior experience in Indigenous Health/Aboriginal Medical Services in the new year.
For the benefits of continuity of care, the preference is for locums that can offer 8+ weeks of cover. However, if you can assist for a shorter period please get in touch to discuss your availability.
★ Great locum rate, dependent on prior AMS experience
★ 6x GP Service with support from a Senior Medical Officer
★ 30-minute appointments, 10-14 patients per day
★ 95% Aboriginal Health Presentations (primarily walk-ins)
★ Authorised Prescriber Endorsement highly regarded

Dates Available
➞ Mid-January 2022 (start date flexible)
➞ Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm
➞ Long locum blocks preferred, two week+ considered
➞ Part-time opportunity for local doctors if desired

Who We’re Looking For
✓ Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM
✓ Specialist AHPRA Registration
✓ Prior experience in AMS/Indigenous Health preferred
✓ Previous addiction medicine/drug and alcohol experience highly desirable
✓ Authorised Prescriber Endorsement
✓ You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or relevant work visa
