Fixed-Term RMO - Start Aug 2022 - Supportive & Highly Reputable Hospital
Are you an RMO and finding the work you have been engaged with does not provide the level of support or rotation experience that you’d like?
Many RMO vacancies are not able to provide the right training benefits, making doctors feel unsupported and, in turn, resulting in you not gaining as much knowledge/experience as you’d like.
Those first years as a junior doctor can be challenging and it’s so important to capitalise on them to set you up for the rest of your career.
If you’re eager to have the support you need and your rotation preferences considered in a highly reputable hospital, this is the role for you!
Prescript is looking for RMOs to work on a fixed-term 12-month contract at The Canberra Hospital from August 2022 onwards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive training environment and have access to structured teaching programs, with varied rotations and your rotation preferences considered.
The Position
Resident Medical Officers (RMO) are sought for a fixed-term contract position at The Canberra Hospital (and the other hospitals within the network, including rural NSW areas).
★ August start for a 12-month contract
★ General RMO positions with varied rotations
★ Competitive salary and benefits
★ Supportive training environment and access to structured teaching programs
★ You will be providing day-to-day medical care for patients under the supervision and direction of the hospital's experienced senior medical officers
Please note:
⇒ You will complete four 12-13 week rotations throughout the year. The hospital will work to offer preferenced rotations where they can from Feb 2023.
⇒ You will be expected to follow the roster pattern for each rotation
⇒ Some rotations are in more rural locations, such as Bega and Goulburn in NSW

About Paul Tillman
As Prescripts Senior Recruitment Partner for non-specialist doctors, I am passionate about building close relationships with both the doctors and health services I work with. I always aim to provide a personal and tailored service and will strive to find the best opportunities for doctors based on their needs and goals and, in turn, provide health services with the best fit for the vacancies they have.
Having worked in medical recruitment for over five years, I have a great understanding of the roles available and the challenges health services face in finding staff for their vacancies.
Prior to working in medical recruitment, I was a Registered Nurse and worked in the UK as a Respiratory HDU Nurse for NHS trusts. This means I have a great insight into the challenges of working clinically and always try to consider this in my work.
I am currently studying Nursing again to allow me the opportunity to return to some clinical work in Australia. My family and I moved to Melbourne from the UK over five years ago, and I enjoy travelling and exploring Australia whenever I can, as well as getting back home to visit family in the UK.
My passions are spending time with friends and family, including my dog Ted, eating and drinking out, enjoying the Australian weather (when Melbourne allows), and sports – most of all football (or soccer, as I am often told).
I always have time for a chat and a joke with health services and doctors alike and look forward to building new connections at Prescript.
