Tasmania offers a picturesque location to deliver comprehensive psychiatric services to older persons in the community while avoiding acute hospital admissions.
You'll also have the chance to supervise medical staff as required, and enjoy exploring Hobart's famous Salamanca Market, culinary scene, and breathtaking views of Mount Wellington.
The Position
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary mental health service, delivering high-quality mental healthcare to older adults. And the best part? You'll be working in beautiful Hobart, one of the most picturesque cities in Australia!
As an Older Persons Psychiatrist, you will be providing a comprehensive older persons psychiatric service, with a particular focus on the community and the avoidance of acute hospital admissions.
You’ll receive support from the Clinical Director and Assistant Director of Nursing.
You’ll love living and working in beautiful Hobart - we always receive great feedback. In your spare time, enjoy its stunning scenery, vibrant culture, and friendly community.

Who We're Looking For
✓ Specialist Registration with AHPRA
✓ FRANZCP
✓ You must be an Australian permanent resident or citizen, a New Zealand citizen, or other relevant work visa
✓ National Criminal History Check
✓ Older Persons Psychiatry experience desirable but not essential
Please note - you will be required to undertake Child Safeguard training via Child Wise or Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) prior to commencement (must have completed in the last 12 months prior to the locum placement).

Hi there, I'm Ash and I work as Prescript's Recruitment Partner for Family Medicine GPs and Psychiatrists. Based in Adelaide, my aim is to become the most knowledgeable recruiter for Psychiatrists and Family Medical GPs in Australia. With over three years of recruitment experience in a variety of industries, including blue, pink, and white collar, I've gained a deep understanding of the needs of both clients and candidates. Recently, I served as a Board Member, where I focused on upholding ethical standards and streamlining operations. Additionally, as a Co-Managing Director and Co-Founder within the recruitment industry, I worked hard to develop and implement business strategies that prioritised client needs and ensured positive outcomes for all involved.
I'm a firm believer in continuous learning and am always striving to expand my skill set.
