ED/Rural Generalist Locums – Increased Rates - Pilbara WA
Western Australia has consistently advertised the highest locum rates for ED SMOs, FACEMs and Rural Generalists over the last two years. Now that increased rates are confirmed until at least October 2023, now is the time to plan a locum getaway to one of its most popular destinations.
Week-long locum blocks from March to July have been released in the Pilbara across at least two of their sites. With spectacular natural wonders a short distance from the health services, and supportive and reputable departments to work in, this is an excellent opportunity for you to assist in a desirable location whilst earning a top-tier locum rate.
★ Senior Medical Practitioner up to $2800 daily
★ Rural Generalists up to $3000 daily, night shifts $3200
★ ED Consultant up to $3450 daily
Experience the Pilbara region - ancient natural landscapes, spectacular national parks, deserted pristine islands with turquoise waters, and secluded beaches. There are numerous cultural and heritage attractions, such as historic rock art, art galleries, original settlements, and some unique regional events.
The Position
Working alongside 4 other Senior Medical Practitioners, you will be working around a roster testing your ED skills over 10 hour shifts. Chose to either work a short weeklong locum block around your current commitments, or extend your stay in the area and get the full Pilbara experience on your rostered days off.
★ No on-call commitments, 10 hour shifts only
★ ED or Inpatient shifts scheduled to suit inbound and outbound travel
★ Great working environment - Excellent leadership team with supportive colleagues
★ Night shifts (not compulsory or rostered at all sites) are solo
★ Lovely self-contained accommodation within close proximity to the hospital
★ On-site GPA and GPO support
★ Great workload to hone your specialist skillset with excellent feedback from previous locums
★ Shortest blocks available in WA that still include interstate travel provisions
★ Suitable for advanced ED/Rural Generalist trainees, Fellow GPs with ED skills or Consultants of Emergency Medicine

Who We’re Looking For
✓ Specialist or General AHPRA Registration
✓ Fellowship of RACGP, ACRRM or ACEM for the highest rates advertised
✓ Advanced ED training/experience and capability of working independently overnight (if rostered)
✓ You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or relevant work visa
